During your first call to the CitiPhone help line, you will go through an authorization procedure, so that we can minimize the possibility of your card being misused by an unauthorized person. For future contact with the CitiPhone helpline, you will use your T-PIN code, actually you will be asked for two random numbers from the T-PIN code. How to Use the Citi Credit CardThe Citi credit card is accepted at more than 48,000 stores in the Czech Republic and their numbers grow every day. You can also use your card in more than 25 million stores around the world. If necessary, you have access to cash from more than 2,700 ATM machines in the Czech Republic and 600,000 ATM machines around the world. Just look for the MasterCard logo. To assure the security of your card and minimize the risk of your card being misused, we recommend the following:
How to repay the balance on your credit cardEvery month we will send you a detailed credit card statement for the credit card free of charge, which will include details of every transaction, the payment due and the current balance on your credit card. Within 25 days, you must decide to pay anything from the minimum monthly payment of 3.2 percent of the current balance up to the total balance due on the account. This payment can be made as a transfer from your current account (at the branch or over the Internet), money order or in cash at any of our branches. If you have a current account with Citibank, you can make an on-line payment with one click with the help of the Citibank Online service. Cashless Credit Card PaymentPaying for Products and Services in Stores with a Point-of-Sale Terminal (POS)What happens when you use your card to pay for products and services in a store? The cashier will swipe your card through a terminal and asks you to sign a receipt, which is printed by the terminal. After you sign you name on the receipt, your purchase is completed. Whenever paying with your card, always pay attention to how the cashier uses your card. In a majority of the cases, the cashier will not require any PIN. In some cases it may happen that the cashier may request additional identification, especially if your signature on the receipt is slightly different than that on the card. All mistaken or incorrectly completed receipts (including all copies) must be destroyed in your presence by ripping it up. It this way, you limit the possibility of being charged twice for the transaction. If there are any problems when paying with the card, please do not hesitate to call CitiPhone +420 233 062 222. Paying for Products and Services with an ImprinterIf the store is not connected to the bank through an on-line payment terminal and its own imprinter, you can still use your embossed Citi credit card to pay for your purchase. When paying with your Citi credit card with an imprinter, the seller uses an imprinter to print information on the receipt using the raised numbers on your card. Identification plate of the seller (store, hotel, gas station, etc.) is also printed on the receipt. Along with the other information on the receipt, the cashier will also fill in the date, price and request your signature on the receipt. Please carefully check the amount and the currency (for example, CZK, EUR, USD etc.). If the amount or currency is not correctly completed, do not sign the receipt. Nothing should be rewritten or crossed out on the receipt, so ask the cashier to make a new receipt with the correct information. Information on the receipt must be completed with a ballpoint pen. The cashier will always return one copy of the receipt to you. Check to make sure the information is readable. Save your receipt and check your credit card statement to make sure that your account was debited by the correct amount. If you are paying for larger amounts, the cashier can request additional identification from you as the cardholder. If there are any problems when paying with the card, please do not hesitate to call CitiPhone +420 233 062 222. Using the Card for Reservations, Guarantees and Pre-paymentsIf using your card for a reservation (for example, in a hotel, pension or for airline tickets) or as a guarantee (for example, in a car rental agency or hotel) provide your card number and expiration date, as well as your name and address to the relevant business. The cashier will check for authorization, in order to find whether you have an adequate balance on your credit card to cover the relevant transaction. Providing a guarantee involves making a manual printout of your credit card on a receipt or on a note on the payment terminal. With the guarantee, you agree to let the business charge your card for any expenses found later, for example for refilling the gas tank after returning a rental car, use of the minibar, etc.). The sales person provides you with the price and a reservation number, which can be used if there are any problems. Do not sign the receipt unless all the relevant information about the place of business is completed, or it could possibly be misused. When retuning a car or checking out of a hotel, request a written confirmation that all your documents have been returned. These documents can be used if there is a complaint about the amount charged on the card. Ask the sales person to return the original imprint of your card for the guarantee or the sales person should destroy the imprint. Paying over the Internet (or by Telephone Order)When paying for purchases over the Internet or by telephone it is necessary to provide the seller of the goods or services with: the credit card number, the card’s expiration date, and perhaps other details, such as the address where you want the goods sent, a description of the product, etc. You may also be asked for the CVV2 control code, which is the last three numbers printed on the back of your card near the card’s signature strip. Please seriously consider the company you order from, as there are cases when the goods or services are not delivered as agreed when ordering. When paying by Internet, please pay close addition to the security of the company and its web page. You can find if the web page is secure against the fraudulent use of your personal information by clicking on the lock on the lower part of the browser window. Cash withdrawalWithdrawing cash from an ATM machineCredit cards are primarily treated as a cashless payment instrument. To access money in your current account, you have a debit card. You can, of course, withdrawal cash from an ATM machine or at the teller of select banks with the help of your Citi credit card. For cash withdrawal from an ATM machine, follow the instructions on the screen
If you request an amount, which the ATM machine cannot pay (or if you have reached your limit), the ATM machine will ask you to enter a new amount. To increase your level of security, follow the following steps:
Cash Withdrawal at a Bank Teller or Exchange OfficeWhen using your card to withdraw cash at a bank branch or exchange office, the process is similar to using your card in a store. You will always have to provide proof of identification. When withdrawing cash with your Citi credit card, you will be charged a fee for the cash withdrawal (for more about fees, see the Price list for Citi Credit Cards). In the case of cash withdrawal, there is no 55-day no-interest period, and interest is applied as of the day of withdrawal. ComplaintsIf you do not agree with the amount, currency or transaction, that appears on your credit card statement, check the transaction with your receipts and contact the CitiPhone helpline +420 233 062 222 within 20 days after the date on your credit card statement. We will send you a complaint form, which you will fill in, sign and attach the receipts from the disputed transaction. Send the form back to Citibank. The disputed transaction will be removed from the calculated current balance and you will not need to pay it. If the disputed transaction is not determined to be a mistake, the disputed amount will again be applied to the balance along with any interest from that transaction from the date of execution. If the complaint made through CitiPhone is not processed within 30 days from the date of your notification, we will inform you about the processing of your complaint through a message included in your monthly statement.Security FeaturesYou will find additional recommendations on how to increase security when using your credit card here. |
