Terms and Conditions carefully. If the Terms and Conditions
are acceptable to you, acknowledge your acceptance by
pressing the "I Agree" button on the website.
If you are using only Citibank Online and have not subscribed
to Citibank Alerting Service, then the Terms and Conditions
for Citibank Alerting Service will not be applicable
to you. If you are using only Citibank Alerting Service,
in such a case, it is deemed that you have signified
your acceptance of the Terms and Conditions as respectively
applicable on Citibank Online and Citibank Alerting
Service.

the
Citibank Online home page. i) Tthe Customer understand that under Citibank
Alerting Service facility, Citibank will send the Customer
customized alert messages with respect to events/transactions
relating to his/her Account (which may be a Savings/Current/Fixed
Deposit/Credit Card Account /any other account). The
Customer understands that to receive the alert messages,
the Customer may select and set all or any of the Triggers
available on Citibank Online www.citibankegypt.com or
(ii) through CitiPhone or (iii) through written instructions
or instructions given through any other means as offered
and advised by Citibank from time to time. The alert
messages will be sent to the Customer via short messages
service/text (SMS) on his/her mobile phone and/or via
e-mail or any other form of electronic means of communications
available from time to time subject to connectivity/provision
of services by the Cellular Service Provider in use
by the Customer and provided that such Cellular Service
Provider has formalized an arrangement with Citibank
agreeing to provide the alerting services to the Customers.
The Customer may also receive the alert message as an
e-mail on his/her personal computer.
(ii) The Customer accepts that it will be his/her responsibility
to obtain the Terms and Conditions relating to Citibank
Online and to read and understand the same and the Customer
shall comply therewith. Citibank will reserve the right
to accept or refuse his/her registration application
without providing any reason. If Citibank accepts his/her
registration for Citibank Alerting Service, the Customer
understands and agrees that the Customer shall be bound
by these Terms and Conditions in force and which are
subject to change by Citibank from time to time. The
Customer understands that the Citibank may, from time
to time, send the Customer additional Citibank Alerting
Services/SMS that are relevant to his/her account or
pertain to Citibank's products/services, which may be
of interest to the Customer unless the Customer has
requested Citibank otherwise. The Customer hereby gives
his/her consent to receive such information.
(iii) The Customer shall advise Citibank immediately
in the event of any change in any of the information,
i.e. his/her mobile number, e-mail account. Citibank
is in no way liable for his/her lack of receipt of a
message alert should the Customer fail to provide updated
information to Citibank. The Customer agrees to provide
any additional information as required by Citibank,
from time to time, for the purpose of making the facility
available to the Customer. The Customer certifies that
the details/information as given by the Customer in
his/her relationship record/account opening form/application
is correct and accurate. the Customer shall advise Citibank
immediately in the event there are any changes in his/her
mobile phone number, e-mail address, fax number or any
other change in the details of his/her relationship
record. The Customer also agree that Citibank shall
not be liable, in any manner, if any information pertaining
to his/her Account(s) becomes in the knowledge of any
third party due to, including but not limited to, if
such third party has access or using his/her mobile
phone/e-mail with or without his/her consent to do so.
The Customer agrees to avail Citibank Alerting Service
Facility on the Terms and Conditions stated herein and
accept and agree to be bound by the said Terms and Conditions.

1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following terms shall
have the following meanings:
Alerts: means the customized messages in response to
the Triggers sent either by short messaging service/text
("SMS") over the Customer's mobile phone,
e-mail, or fax or any other modes of communication.
Account: means any account(s) which the Customer has
with Citibank, which may be a savings/current/fixed
deposit/credit card account or any other account.
Citibank: means Citibank, N.A. Egypt.
CSP: means the Cellular Service Provider which is providing
mobile telecommunications facility to the Customer.
Customer: means the person who holds/maintains an Account
(as defined above) with Citibank.
Facility: means Citibank Alerting Service Facility as
offered by Citibank from time to time.
Triggers: means the customized triggers to be set or
placed by the Customer with Citibank with respect to
specific event/transactions relating to the Customer's
Account to enable Citibank to send the Alerts to the
Customer specifically related to the Customer’s
Account and generalized Alert messages (example: birthday
greetings, launch of service) set by Citibank from time
to time.
2. Availability
2.1 The Facility will be made available by Citibank
to the Customer at the Customer's request. At the sole
discretion of Citibank, the Facility may be changed
or discontinued at any time, without further notice
to the Customer. The Customer may advise Citibank to
unsubscribe the Facility in case Citibank has provided
the Customer with the Facility without the Customer’s
request for the same.
2.2 The Alerts will be sent to the Customer on his/her
mobile phone only if the Customer is within the cellular
circles of the CSPs or in circles forming part of the
roaming network of such CSPs. The Alerts will also be
sent to the Customer on such e-mail address of the Customer
as provided by him/her to Citibank.
2.3 Citibank may, if feasible, extend the Facility
to other cellular circles as well as to subscribers
of other cellular telephone service providers, as notified
by Citibank, from time to time.
3.Process
3.1 To receive Alerts, the Customer may select and set
all or any of the Triggers available on Citibank, Egypt
website www.CitibankEgypt.com
The Customer may set any Triggers with Citibank through
CitiPhone or by written instructions to Citibank.
3.2 The Customer is responsible to acquaint himself/herself
with the process for using Citibank Alerting Service
and Citibank is not responsible, in any manner, for
any error by the Customer in setting the Triggers and/or
use of the Citibank Alerting Service.
3.3 To set Triggers over Citibank Egypt website, the
Customer may be required to use the Citibank Online
Facility and the Terms and Conditions relating thereto
will apply. To set Triggers through CitiPhone the Customer
will be required to use his/her T-PIN. Alerts will be
sent over the Customer's mobile phone number and e-mail
address registered with Citibank. The Terms and Conditions
relating to Citibank Online and the General Terms and
Conditions applicable to liability account(s) and the
Credit Card Terms and Conditions must be read in conjunction
with and in addition to these Terms and Conditions and
the Customer will be responsible to comply therewith.
To set the Triggers by written instructions, Customer
will fill in the prescribed application form and sign
the same and send it by fax/courier in order to enable
Citibank to set the Alerts for the Customer after following
its internal verification process of such application.
3.4 The Customer acknowledges that Citibank Alerting
Service will be implemented in stages and Citibank may
at a later stage; as and when feasible, send Alerts
via other mediums of communication. Citibank may, from
time to time, change the features of any Triggers or
Alerts/Facility. The Customer will be responsible for
keeping himself updated of the available Triggers or
Alerts, which will be notified by Citibank over its
Website. The Customer may, from time to time, change
or add to the Triggers he/she has selected, without
the necessity of a new registration.
4. Joint Accounts
The Facility will be available for “Joint-Or”
accounts, to the account holder(s) who have their Debit
Card issued
5. Setting Triggers and Receiving
Alerts
5.1 Citibank, at no time, will acknowledge receipt of
any instructions or Triggers set by the Customer nor
will Citibank be responsible to verify any instructions
or Triggers or the Customer's T-PIN or mobile phone
number or fax number. Citibank will endeavor to give
effect to Instructions and Triggers on a best effort
basis and as soon as practically possible for Citibank
and Citibank shall not be responsible, in any manner,
to the Customer for its inability to give effect to
the instructions.
5.2 Citibank may, in its discretion, not give effect
to any Triggers if Citibank has reason to believe (which
decision of Citibank shall be binding on the Customer)
that the Triggers are not genuine or otherwise improper
or unclear or raise a doubt or in case any Triggers
cannot be put into effect for any reasons whatsoever.
5.3 The Customer is responsible for intimating to Citibank
any change in his mobile phone number or e-mail address
or Account details and Citibank will not be liable for
the Customer's receipt of Alerts or other information
over the Customer's mobile phone number/e-mail address
/fax number recorded with Citibank.
5.4 The Customer acknowledges that to receive Alerts,
his mobile phone must be in an "on" mode.
If the Customer's mobile phone is switched off/powered
off for a continuous 24 hour period from the time of
delivery of an Alerts message by Citibank or out of
the mobile phone service area, that particular message
will not be received by the Customer.
5.5 Triggers will be processed by Citibank after their
respective receipt by Citibank. Citibank, in its discretion,
will decide the processing time for Triggers. The Customer
acknowledges that there will be a certain time lag between
Citibank processing the Triggers and sending the Alerts.
5.6 The Customer acknowledges that the Facility is
dependent on the infrastructure, connectivity and services
provided by the CSPs and other service providers engaged
by Citibank. The Customer accepts that timeliness, accuracy,
and readability of Alerts sent by Citibank will depend
on factors affecting the CSPs and other service providers.
Citibank shall not be liable, in any manner, for non-delivery
or delayed delivery of Alerts, error, loss or distortion
in transmission of Alerts to the Customer. Citibank
shall not be liable for Customer's lack of receipt of
Alerts due to any defects in Customer's phone or damage
caused to the Customer as a result of use of the Facility
(including relying on the Alerts for the Customer's
investment or business purposes) for causes which are
not attributable to Citibank. Citibank shall not be
liable in any manner to the Customer in connection with
the use of the Facility. Citibank shall not be liable
if the CSP does not distribute, block or discontinue
the Alerts originating from Citibank.
5.7 The Customer accepts and understands that each
Alert may contain Account information relating to the
Customer. The Customer authorizes Citibank to send Account-related
information. The Customer acknowledges that Citibank
Alerting Service sent to him contains confidential information
and should such confidential information may be received
by another person other than the Customer due to operational
fault or technical defects and in that event Citibank
shall not be liable or responsible therefore. The Customer
further understands that information relating to his/her
Account will be transmitted/passed through the computer
and telecommunication systems of the CSP for the purpose
of the arrangement made hereunder and the Customer will
have no objection and/or claim of whatsoever nature
in this respect.
5.8 By agreeing to the Terms and Conditions of Citibank
Alerting Service, the Customer accepts the option to
use the enhanced options as and when they are made available
by Citibank, which may include but not be limited to;
transferring of funds, making bill payments, conversion
of funds from one currency to another. Upon Citibank's
offering of the enhanced options, the Customer shall
be advised as to the fees charged for the various enhanced
options available. Such Alerts shall be charged on a
per transaction basis or otherwise as determined by
Citibank.
6. Withdrawal or Termination
Citibank may, in its discretion and without prior notice
and incurring any liability, temporarily suspend the
Facility or terminate it completely.
7. Fees
The Facility will be subject to payment of fee as determined
by Citibank from time to time and notified in the latest
Schedule of Charges of Citibank. Citibank will have
the right to change the fee payable by the Customer
for the Facility by giving notice to the Customer and
in case of any change in the amount of fee will be published
in the schedule of charges and the same will be deemed
as notice to the Customer. The Customer hereby authorizes
Citibank to recover the subject fee by debiting/charging
the Customer's Account. The Customer shall be charged
for the full month even if the Customer discontinues
anytime during the month. The Customer shall be liable
for payment of such airtime or other charges which may
be levied by the CSP in connection with receipt of the
Alerts and Citibank will not be liable for any such
charges.
8.Disclaimer
8.1 the Customer is solely responsible for protecting/securing
his/her ATM PIN/User Name/Password/Challenge
Answers and mobile phone/equipment, mobile
phone number/e-mail address and all losses and damages
arising due to disclosure/divulgence of ATM
PIN/User Name/Password/Challenge Answers will
be liability of the Customer.
8.2 Citibank will not be liable for (a) any unauthorized
use of the Customer's ATM PIN/User Name/Password/Challenge
Answers or mobile phone or for any fraudulent,
duplicate or erroneous instructions /Triggers given
by Customer's use of the Customer's ATM PIN/User
Name/Password/Challenge Answers or mobile phone
number; (b) acting in good faith on any instructions/Triggers
received by Citibank; (c) error, default, delay or inability
of Citibank to act on all or any of the instructions
/Triggers; (d) loss of any information/instructions
/Alerts in transmission; (e) unauthorized access by
any other person to any information /instructions /Triggers
given by the Customer or breach of confidentiality;
8.3 Citibank will not be liable in any manner in case
of any dispute between the Customer and the CSP and
makes no representation or gives no warranty with respect
to the quality of the service provided by the CSP or
guarantee for timely delivery or accuracy of the contents
of each Alert.
9. Disclosure
The Customer accepts that all information/instructions/Triggers
will be transmitted to and /or stored at various locations
and be accessed by personnel of Citibank (and its affiliates).
Citibank is authorized to provide any information or
details relating to the Customer or his Account to the
CSPs or any service providers insofar as is necessary
to give effect to any Instructions/Triggers and Citibank
shall not be responsible for acts/omissions of CSP and/or
other service providers.
10.Liability and Indemnity
The Customer shall not interfere with or misuse in any
manner whatsoever the Facility and in the event of any
damage due to improper or fraudulent use by the Customer,
the Customer shall be liable for damages, losses and
claims/actions against Citibank. In consideration of
Citibank providing the Facility, the Customer agrees
to indemnify and hold Citibank harmless from and against
all actions, claims, demands, proceedings, loss, damages,
costs, charges and expenses whatsoever which Citibank
may at any time incur, sustain, suffer as a consequence
of or arising from the Customer acting, or omitting
to act on any instructions given by use of the Facility.
Once the Customer unsubscribe, he/she shall still be
liable for all the Triggers, Alerts, and transactions
that have occurred until Citibank deactivates the Citibank
Alerting Service Facility provided to the Customer.
11. Amendment
Amendment: Citibank may amend/change the above Terms
and Conditions, at any time by giving notice to the
Customer and such amended terms and conditions will
thereupon apply to and be binding on the Customer
12. The Terms and Conditions as stated hereinabove
are in addition to the Citibank General Terms and Conditions
Applicable to All Accounts and/or Citibank Credit Card
Terms and Conditions as applicable from time to time.
In case of conflict between any provisions of the conditions
governing Citibank Alerting Service and the General
Terms and Conditions Applicable to All Accounts and/or
Citibank Credit Card Terms and Conditions, the provisions
of Citibank Alerting Service shall prevail subject to
the condition that the subject matter of the dispute
pertains to the Facility. In all other cases the provisions
of the General Terms and Conditions Applicable to All
Accounts and/or Citibank Credit Card Terms and Conditions
shall prevail over the conditions governing Citibank
Alerting Service.
