CitiClub Sport “Socially Active” team took part in the 36th PZU Warsaw Marathon - September 28

Career, Citi Service Center, Citi Handlowy

The great celebration of running is over! An event of this caliber could not have had a better setting: cloudless sky and a temperature of 20 degrees C. In a word: perfect conditions for running – for both the “High Five Race” (5 km) and the royal distance of 42 km.

On Sunday, a 40-strong team composed of employees of Citi Handlowy and Citi Service Center took part in the 36th PZU Warsaw Marathon. Races were held over two distances - 5 kilometers and the full marathon distance. A team of 17 representing “CitiClub Sport – Socially Active” took part in the team run event organized as a part of the marathon. Out of 49 teams registered for the event, we came in the 25th place, with the total time of the five fastest runners of 18 hours 37 minutes and 49 seconds.

On the occasion of this initiative, our employees run to support financially a Warsaw-based Association “Q Zmianom”, whose objective is to support learning and personal development of children and young people as well as to offer equal educational opportunities to people from different social and economic backgrounds. For each kilometer run during the 5K run or the marathon, Citi Handlowy donated PLN 4.00 in support of the institution. As a result, the campaign initiated by “CitiClub Sport – Socially Active” managed to collect the sum of PLN 2408.

Running has become our company’s flagship sport discipline. A rapidly growing interest in mass running events confirms this. On Sunday, over eight thousand people lined up at the start line, including a strong team composed of Citi Handlowy employees. Unceasing interest shown by our colleagues in running as a part of CitiClub Sport – Socially Active definitively proves that we want to run together and want to run to support important social causes, said Piotr Kosno - Head of Strategic Customers Department, Citi Handlowy.
