CONGRATULATIONS to all our clients who have been recognised in this year’s
Adam Smith Awards.
The Adam Smith Awards are the benchmark of best practice and innovation in
treasury management. Each one of our winning clients is a worthy recipient
having shown best practice, ingenuity and hard work to implement treasury
solutions that are outstanding.
It is a source of huge pride for all of us at Citi, that our Treasury and Trade
Solutions team has worked closely with these clients to deliver and implement
these important innovative solutions.
Ultimately, it is our client partners who take the initiative to optimise treasury
practices. Our role as their banking partner is to engage in a continuous dialogue
with our clients, to understand their strategic business goals, and objectives, in
order to provide advice, insights and analysis that leads to us jointly designing an
innovative solution blueprint that assists them in achieving their goals.
Given the macro-economic, and global competitive challenges faced today by all
businesses, the importance of having a state-of-the-art treasury function, well-
integrated with wider business areas, is increasingly being seen as a critical
element in support of a defined growth strategy. In this context, included in this
booklet is our series of “Smarter Treasury” articles which have been published in
Treasury Today this year. I hope you find these useful.
It is strikingly clear from all the case studies that our clients are taking bold and
exciting steps to drive their standardisation, harmonisation and efficiency agenda
across their organisations, and that there are many different approaches to
optimising treasury practices. Implementing the right one, at the right time,
requires expertise on both sides of the client-bank relationship.
