Awards covered Citi's services in 67 countries, including Hungary, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Russia

Citibank Hungary has for the sixth consecutive year been named “Best Corporate/Institutional Internet Bank” in the Global Finance Magazine awards for the “World's Best Internet Banks 2011” competition. Citi won prestigious awards in six other CEE countries, including the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Russia. Together with the CEE countries Citi's internet banking services have been awarded in 67 countries around the world.
In addition, Citi was also awarded Best Investment Management Services, Best Online Cash Management, Best Trade Finance Services, Best Web Site Design, Best Information Security Initiatives, Best in Mobile Banking and Best in Social Media award categories in Central and Eastern Europe.

Winning banks were selected among entries evaluated by an independent panel of judges at Infosys. Global Finance editors were responsible for the final selection.

The winners were chosen based on their strength for attracting and servicing online customers, success in getting clients to use web offerings, growth of online customers, breadth of product offerings, evidence of tangible benefits gained from Internet initiatives, and web design functionality.
Global winners will be announced and honored at an award ceremony in New York in November 2011.
