Citibank makes 500,000 customer calls representing some 250,000 minutes annually more convenient and faster with new Mobile Phone Recognition from CitiPhone

October 29, 2012

Customers calling CitiPhone from a domestic mobile phone number registered in advance with Citibank will now hear a personalized menu, tailored to the products and selected information most relevant to them. Customers will not need to input the 16-digit debit or credit card number or the loan agreement ID number. They simply enter their 4-digit telephone PIN code and the system will immediately recognize and identify them and instantly offer them a personalized menu.

Batara Sianturi, Citi Country Officer for Hungary said, "CitiPhone was the first 7/24 telephone customer service in Hungary in 1995 and since then we have introduced a great number of innovations in this area. The mobile phone recognition is another innovation in the Hungarian market, which will make annually around 500,000 CitiPhone customer calls more convenient and faster with around a total of 250,000 minutes. We know how much our customers appreciate any development and innovation that makes banking with us even faster and more convenient."

Jon Wiggins, Consumer Business Manager for Citibank Hungary also remarked, "We focused on enhancing the customer experience while designing this new functionality to allow each customer to receive tailor-made information and service from CitiPhone. In addition to this aspect we can certainly mention the HUF10 million cost save we expect to achieve annually in total for our customers if we consider the local phone fees for 250,000 minutes call time save."
