Hungary. Budapest. The US-Hungary Business Council (USHBC) has elected Mr. Kevin A. Murray as Chairman for 2017. Mr. Murray is Citi’s CEO for Central-Europe and Country Head for Hungary.
The USHBC was formed by eleven major US companies operating in Hungary (of which, Citi is one of the founding members) in the beginning of 2016. The council is a one-stop platform for dialogue between American corporate executives and the top government leaders responsible for the U.S.-Hungary bilateral relationship. USHBC works to enhance U.S.-Hungary trade and investment and advance the bilateral commercial relationship.
A number of meetings between the Senior Representatives of the Hungarian Government and US companies were held in 2016, including the Inaugural Business Mission with Prime Minister Mr. Viktor Orbán, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Mr. Péter Szijjártó, Minister of National Economy Mr. Mihály Varga, and Minister of National Development Mr. Miklós Seszták. The meetings proved successful in their aim of helping US companies develop a dialogue with key interlocutors in the Government of Hungary and the US Embassy in Budapest.
