Citi Romania ranks as top bank in the Corporate Segment of the FX Market for the second year in a row, according to the Euromoney FX Survey 2013, with a market share of 50.55% and a volume of USD 13.94 billion.
Globally, Citi is the top FX house for corporates, having an overall market share of 14.9%. This represents a significant increase from 2012’s market share of 12.3% , despite the effect of tightening spreads triggered by the reduced volatility in foreign exchange as well as generally reduced FX volumes and revenues for the banks. Citi had the largest increase in market share among the top 10 banks in Euromoney FX Survey 2013.
“In the past year, Citi was highly focused on making smart investments in technology, to support our global and local leading FX and Market teams in providing cutting-edge products, solutions and seamless execution to our clients. These investments had an important contribution to this year’s results in the Euromoney FX Survey.
We once again thank our clients for their vote of confidence and we remain committed to keeping our leading position on the local market as well as to making our global capabilities work in the best interest of our clients”, declared Grigoriy Ananiev, Citi Romania Treasury Head.
First published in 1979, Euromoney’s annual foreign exchange survey is the benchmark by which the global FX industry judges its performance. The survey was conducted between mid-January 2013 and mid-February 2013 and had more than 16,000 respondents. These respondents provided details on the banks with which they transacted business in 2012 and reported a total volume USD 225.3 trillion, up by 8% from the volume disclosed in the previous year.
