Citi today announced the appointment of Ivan Vrhel, Citi Commercial Bank Head for Romania, as the Citi Country Officer for Citi Romania. In this role, Ivan Vrhel will be responsible to design, execute and embed the business strategy in the country, while ensuring a sound management of risk and controls. Ivan Vrhel will also be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, public sector business, regulators and government. In his role as Citi Country Officer for Citi Romania, Ivan Vrhel will report to Kevin A. Murray, CEO for Central-Europe* and Citi Country Officer for Hungary. Ivan Vrhel will also continue in his current role as Citi Commercial Bank Head for Romania.
Ivan Vrhel began his career at Citi in 2004 as a Management Associate in the Czech Republic, where he held a number of senior roles. Ivan Vrhel moved to Romania in 2014 to take up his role as Commercial Bank Head for Romania. Ivan Vrhel holds a Bachelor in Economic Studies and a Masters in Economics with a specialization in Banking and Capital Markets from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic.

Ivan Vrhel will replace Tibor Pandi, who served as Citi Country Officer for Citi Romania for seven years. Tibor Pandi has been appointed as Citi Country Officer (CCO) for Thailand.
The appointment is subject to regulatory approvals.
