A., Bahamas Branch has been dedicated to providing the most comprehensive and innovative range of global financial products, services and solutions to its valued customers, both locally and regionally. These include Trade Finance and Trade Services, Foreign Exchange, Derivatives, Cash & Treasury Management Solutions, Electronic Banking & Web-based Solutions, Asset-based Financing, Project Finance, Corporate Finance, Financial Advisory Services, International Capital Markets issuances and Commercial Lending. The Bahamas business provides relationship management for clients based in the Cayman Islands.

History

• Citi began operating in the Bahamas in 1960 as First National City Bank of New York and First National City Trust Company (Bahamas ) Limited.
• Activities included offshore Euro Dollar deposits, limited local retail banking and the Trust business (Fiduciary services)
• In 1972, Citi moved in to a Citi owned building in Oakes Field. A branch was maintained down town.
• In 1976, the entities changed their names to Citibank N.A. and Cititrust (Bahamas) Limited respectively.
• In 1987, Citibank implemented a full service consumer bank business.
• In 1994, Citi established a local presence in Latin American Investment Bank Bahamas Limited to support offshore activity booked in Bahamas entities.
• In 2001, Citibank closed its consumer bank business and the same year opened a niche corporate bank business supported from the Trinidad hub.
• In 2010, Citibank opened a mini branch at Thompson Boulevard to service the cash needs of its domestic clients.
