Citi Ukraine, together with members of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, signed the Principles of Veteran-Friendly Business with the support of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.

This document was created by Starlight Media with the expert support of the Veteran Hub in cooperation with Forbes Ukraine and with the support of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, and brings together 12 key principles that identify practical steps for companies to create inclusive workspaces and support veterans in their adaptation to civilian life.

The following companies also joined the signing of the document: Avrora Multimarket, Baker McKenzie, Bunge, Cargill, Carlsberg, Cisco, Citi, Horizon Capital, KPMG, McDonald's, Sayenko Kharenko, Unilever, Winner Group.

“People are our greatest asset, and we are honored to join this initiative in order to uphold and implement these principles. Citi Ukraine is committed to empowering veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families with the tools they need to realize their professional ambitions through career opportunities, mentoring, and flexible hiring processes,” said Alexander McWhorter, CCO for Citi in Ukraine.

"Supporting veterans is not only about gratitude, but also about creating opportunities for a dignified return to civilian life, in particular, creating employment opportunities and forming a culture among employers based on an understanding of the veteran community, their preferences and needs. Today, we are signing the Veteran-Friendly Business Principles together with the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine. This is an important step towards the formation of the corporate culture of employers. We appreciate the willingness of business community leaders to take on this mission and expand opportunities for veterans," said Natalia Kalmykova, Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.

"The opportunity to hire a person who has served his country should be a priority and an honorable mission of every company operating in Ukraine. 84% of the Chamber's member companies have employees who serve in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is important to create as many conditions as possible in which defenders can become economically active again, and implement their knowledge and skills in civilian life. The member companies of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine are ready to provide veterans with decent opportunities for employment and development, using their skills and experience for the benefit of the Ukrainian economy and the reconstruction of Ukraine," commented Andriy Hunder, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine.
